Tina ( A Loving Fan)
I was so thrilled to see this album cover. It's been years since my copy was lost in the flood. I love The Raven and I love the Glass Prism. I'll always remember the first time I saw the El Caminos. It was at Robert Burns Hall in south Scranton. They were the hottest. Everyone was so excited when the Poe album came out. We had followed them for years and finally they had a big record. I hope a reunion happens soon. I have so many friends that would love to see them.

Hey Chris, are you spearheading this reunion. I'm with you. What do we have to do in order to get these guys to come out of retirement for a day. Let's bribe them or something. Let's get a petition going. How do we reach them? What can we do to make it happen?
I was really surprised to see this site. I remember The Glass Prism as the best band in our area for many years. It seems like they were always opening for some big act. Of course they would always steal the show. They were simply better than all of the others.
I heard them play many times. Latter when they became a trio and changed their name to Shenandoah I really liked the new songs and style. When Auggie left and Louie Cossa came in I think they hit their peak musically. The songs they wrote were very good and the voices and musicianship was always tight. (Three great voices, three great musicians and songwritters.) They always put on a great show. I think everyone respected them and I personally congratulate them on a wonderful career. A reunion with Tom, Carl, Rick, Louie and Auggie would be the greatest tribute they could pay to themselves and their many fans. To me that would truely be a dream come true.
Yes, I remember Alan Parson Project with the lp"Tales of Mystery & Imagination"(Poe Tribute)Ihave several copies,One on yellow vinyl. But the Glass Prism still stands out in my mind, the l960's and early 70's were a time of great musicial exploration/experimentation. A reunion with Glass Prism would be fantastic!!!How about a tour with and orchestra---I would buy it!!!Chris
Very interesting...the only wat to describe Glass Prism's sound is that it's as close to that of Procol Harum, another group of the psychedelic ilk, as one might dare to get.
It's a crying shame that this album has not been put onto a CD. I don't even think that a compilation album like Nuggets features this song.
For what it's worth, this is one you don't hear on the radio.
I have the Poe Through The Glass Prism album. It's one my all time favorites. The Raven is a great song. I also really love Ricks voice on Eldoado and Hymn. Not any drummers who can sing lead like Rick. Those songs are just wonderful. I love that album.
The Glass Prism has to be the cult band of the 60's and 70's. The Raven has to be the best song that never made it to the top but should have. I would love to know what happened to this band. They seem to have many loyal fans. My guess is that most of these fans are mature of age and have other important issues in there lives yet still find the time to remember, talk about, and post comments here. Just amazing. Well, I'm a new fan and hope things are going well with the Glass Prism and their loving fans. Making an impact such as this is just so remarkable.
hey guys, Carl, Rick, Tom, Auggie - someone must be monitoring this forum. how about letting us know you are listening ? please ? later...
The Glass Prism? YES
The Raven? YES YES
The REUNION? YES YES YES
hey....wouldn'T IT BE IMPRESSIVE TO THE THE 'POE' ALBUM DONE LIVE WITH AN ORCHESTRA AND GLASS PRISM TOGETHER.....THEN RECORD IT AND SELL THE VHS/DVD AND CD RELEASE......COME ON GLASS PRISM..WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, WITH EVERYBOIDY AND HIS BROTHER REFORMING THESE DAYS,,,JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON AND GET THE SHOW ON THE ROAD.......YOUR FAN CHRIS
two lps -by Glass Prism...."Poe Thru G,P. & the other one "On Joy & Sorrow"..both are magnificent. When I first heard them in l969, I thought it was Vanilla Fudge! Great musicainship for its day. Its a classic in my book!!I have worn out several copies of each of those lps..are they on cd yet? They should be> A reunion show would be nice..a dream come true..drop a line....
Oh my God, this is unbelievable. I love it.
All right! This is just a surprise that I love. These guys were the kings for so many years. Can we get them to do a show? (you know, a reunion).
How do we reach them? Is there an address or e-mail for any of them? Could we get together and send them some kind of petition begging them to get together to do just one more show somewhere. Any ideas? I'm in.
HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD THE LAST INCARNATION OF THE GLASS PRISM (SHENANDOAH)? THEY WERE TOGETHER I THINK FOR FOUR OR FIVE YEARS UNTIL ABOUT 1975-1976. THEY WERE PROBABLY THE BEST TRIO I EVER HEARD AND EVEN BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL GROUP. IT CONSISTED OF RICK RICHARDS (THE ORIGINAL DRUMMER, HE HAS A GREAT VOICE ALSO)TOM VARANO (THE ORIGINAL GUITARIST, ALSO SANG LEAD ON MANY GREAT SONGS, SUCH AS A VERSION OF GIMME SHELTER LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE, A STONES COVER WITH MORE POWER THAN THE STONES EVER THOUGHT ABOUT), AND LOUIE COSSA (BASS AND KEYBOARDS, ALSO A GREAT VOCALIST). THEIR ORIGINAL SONGS LIKE DREAMFIELD, TRY, DOWN THE ROAD, TOO STONED MOST OF THE TIME, AND MANY OTHERS WERE REALLY GREAT SONGS. I WOULD LOVE TO GET A CD OR TAPE OF THEIR RECORDINGS. I UNDERSTAND THEY RECORDED 10 OR 11 OF THESE SONGS JUST BEFORE THEY RETIRED. IF WE COULD MIX THE GLASS PRISM WITH SHENANDOAH FOR A REUNION THAT WOULD BE WONDERFUL. I KNOW MANY OLD FANS THAT WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT HAPPEN.

Sweet mother of God, who are these guys? The comments seem to indicate some sort of love for them like you might see for the Beatles or some great group. Until I heard The Raven I had never heard of them. I think that song is great and I'm looking for more.
Another Glass Prism Groupie
What about Carl? Is he still holding out on his partisapation in a potential reunion? It's been 35 years. How long can we all wait for these guys to do their thing just one more time. And what about Louie? He was with Tom and Rick for about 5 years. All of these guys including Auggie should get together one more time, just like we heard they were planning to. Come on guys time is waisting. We all know you can do it. We are waiting. The time is NOW!
I saw the El Caminoes in the mid 60's and fell in love. One on our favorite songs was called Black Cloud. Does anyone remember it? I'm not sure where they got it or if they wrote it. When the album came out we were all sure they would become one or the countries top groups. We all loved them so.
Great times, great band and the Raven is a great song. We will never forget them.
